Run the tub clean cycle on a monthly basis. Leave the door ajar on a front load machine so air can circulate. Limit the amount of laundry soap you use to 2 tablespoons. Soap building up outside the tub on the drum can cause a smell and may come off and cause oily patches on freshly washed clothing.
Fill the washer with water and turn it on before adding soap or clothing. Do you see water drops or bubbles splashing inside? If you see soap bubbles you are using too much soap.
Use only two tablespoons of liquid laundry soap per load. A slick way to measure the right amount is to use a one ounce shot glass. You’ll get many more loads of clothes from the same container of soap, optimize cleaning, and extend the lifetime of your washer, all the while saving money!
